Oban, Skye, Mull, and Iona. This morning we cross the Kyle of Lochalsh to the Isle of Skye, the land of Bonnie Prince Charlie. An opportunity to visit the Aros Centre which portrays the Isles’ history before we leave Skye to visit Eilean Donan Castle, location for the cult film Highlander! Continuing south in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, we arrive at Oban. A day to explore the magical islands of Mull and Iona. We take a short ferry ride across to Mull with its stunning scenery and historic forts and castles. See Duart Castle, ancient seat of the clan MacLean. We drive east to take a sea hop across to the Sacred Isle Iona, where we visit the Abbey and Reillig Oran, burial place to 48 Scottish Kings. Later, we head back to Oban and your chance to relax in this harbour-side village.
